SJHS Alumna Adelita Husni Bey Exhibition in Milan

SJHS Alumna Adelita Husni Bey Exhibition in Milan - SJHS Alumni

Adelita Husni Bey, an SJHS Alumna and professional artist based in London, is currently in Milan for an exhibition at the Fabbrica del Vapore in Via Procaccino. Her work includes drawing, painting, film and photography. After leaving the Sir James in 2002, she took a foundation course in Art and Design at Chelsea (University of the Arts, London) followed by a BA Degree in Fine Art and then a Masters in Sociology at Goldsmiths.
IB Visual Art students were fortunate to meet Adelita when she came in to school to talk to year 12 and 13 about applying to art schools, courses and career prospects in the arts. Students found the talk of great interest and inspiration with lots of pertinent advice as they near making important further education choices. At the moment the entire cohort of art students in years 12 and 13 are considering further education in the arts and this follows the 2011 art cohort who are all currently embarking on courses in the Arts in the UK and USA.
We hope Adelita will be able to return to Sir James soon, this time with the possibility of a workshop for Sixth Formers.
