Early Years / Foundation Stage
In the early years children are introduced to a wide variety of equipment and are
encouraged to develop skills within a fun and challenging learning environment.
The children’s natural curiosity and eagerness is channeled towards learning within
Games, Gymnastics, Dance and Athletic activities. Lessons are taught on site in purpose
built facilities. The lessons are taught in mixed sex and mixed ability groups and the
children have a total of two or three lessons a week.
Key Stage 1 (age 5-6)
In Key Stage 1 lessons seek to familiarise the children with a wide variety of equipment
and skills within a fun and challenging environment. The children’s natural curiosity and
eagerness to try new things is harnessed within structured progressive lessons taught within
Games, Gymnastics, Dance and Athletic activities. Lessons are taught on and off site at
purpose built facilities. The lessons are taught in mixed sex and mixed ability groups
and the children have a total of three lessons a week.
Key Stage 2 (age 7-10)
In Key Stage 2 children are challenged to develop their basic skills and understanding in
game like situations and Gymnastic or Dance routines. The curriculum is taught through a
programme of activities within include Games, Dance, Gymnastics, Athletic Activities and
Swimming. Lessons are taught both on and off site at purpose built facilities. The lessons
are taught in mixed sex and mixed ability groups and the children have a total of 3 lessons
a week.
